Surveyor through to Associate Surveyor - CPO
Birmingham
£32,000 - £48,000
My client has a dedicated Infrastructure team in the centre of Birmingham with a real need to recruit proven Compulsory Purchase specialists. Ideally, the appointed candidate will have a background in valuations (RICS Registered Valuer preferred) undertaking a varied role which will include field based work, advising on a high profile acquisition schemes across the Midlands. The role will provide assistance and support to Partners as well as guidance and direction to graduate surveyors within the team.
MAIN TASKS:
- Client facing professional advice in relation to land acquisition and compulsory purchase strategy
- Compulsory purchase compensation assessment and negotiation
- Delivery of valuation reports in accordance with client instructions and RICS Valuation Standards
- Client management
- Provide support to Partners in the team and manage own workload effectively
- Provide guidance and supervision to Graduate surveyors in the team
- Participation in the ongoing development and implementation of an effective profit centre business plan developed in-line with the Carter Jonas vision
- Take an active role in the development and implementation of efficient, 'best practice' internal systems and processes, optimising IT and other resources
- Implementation of policy as required and ensuring legal compliance on all work carried out
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
- RICS Registered Valuer
- Compulsory Purchase/Compensation experience
- Good working knowledge of relevant legislation
- Adheres to the RICS Rules of Conduct or relevant professional body where appropriate
- Experience of delivering and managing multiple projects
- Competent with MS Office
- A business development-orientated attitude, with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- An ability to work in a fast paced environment where flexibility is essential
- The ability to drive business initiatives forward and establish new and developing relationships
- Numerate
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Good time management and prioritisation skills
- Full UK driving licence
