Utilities Accounts Administrator
Birmingham
£20,000 - 25,000

A leading, independent commercial property advisor is seeking a Utilities Accounts Administrator to join its team in Birmingham. This role is to work within the Utility team supporting the Utilities Recharge Accountant in a holistic review of the Utility recharge process and accounting procedures surrounding it. This includes reviewing existing process and proposing new processes, ensuring these are implemented and managed in the team, along with resolving issues across the department to ensure prompt collection of recharges and associated costs.

Main Duties:

  • Coordinate and review the production of tenant recharges on behalf of the client through to invoice on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Standardise and implement the recharge process resulting in improved efficiency and collection rates.
  • Liaise with Utilities partner, Property Accountants and Property Managers on recharge issues to ensure accurate and timely issue of recharges, in line with contractual requirements and service charge best practise.
  • Ensure all recharges are reconciled to support monthly data.
  • Instil and maintain a high level of customer service, ensuring all SLA's are met, internally and externally.
  • Complete weekly/monthly compliance information and KPI's for recharges.
  • Manage the production, review and publishing of all relevant process documentation.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong accounting background with experience of raising fees, accruals, P&Ls and Balance sheet - solid double entry bookkeeping skills a necessity.
  • Ideally commercial utilities experience in property management, however utilities awareness or service charge awareness would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders to map an agreed process.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to demonstrate you can work in a busy team and communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of KPI production and results.
  • A team player with a drive to succeed and deliver, offering a high-level of service in a dynamic, high volume, client focused environment.
