Job Title - Project Planner / Planning Engineer

Location - Midlands

Salary - £50,000 / £60,000 + car allowance / travel / pension/ health cover

The Role,

Cobalt are currently working with a tier one main contractor that have an excellent opportunity for a Project Planner to join the team. Our client are the market leaders in high-speed rail delivery, tunnelling, bridge construction, civil engineering, offsite manufacturing and digital engineering. The project is part of a £900m enabling works contracts that cover's the whole of Phase One, from London to Birmingham and the connection to the West Coast Main line at Handsacre in Staffordshire.

Responsibilities

* Actively maintain a record of tender / project risks, planning issues, actions and resolutions and track these to a conclusion.
* To support the preparation of tender and project delivery programmes and track performance against planned intent.
* Support the business's Digital Engineering agenda through the development of maintenance of 4d and 5d time and cost integrated models.
* Support the project teams with all planning related responsibilities associated with the management of their contracts and reporting requirements
* Participates and supports the project teams in project and programme planning and progress meetings
* Establish, co-ordinate and interpret progress status reports and mitigation plans from suppliers against baseline targets.
* Identifies and maintains programme / project milestone and schedule interface activities
* Be innovative and include and actively promote value-engineering idea
* Support the implementation of training plans for staff on the planning process
* Develop/recommend and sell solutions to the team.

The Candidate

* HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering
* Minimum of 5 years planning experience
* Be innovative and include and actively promote value-engineering ideas
* Support the implementation of training plans for staff on the planning process.
* Develop/recommend and sell solutions to the team.
* Proficiency with PC operating systems, with proficiency in several basic software applications
* Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications such as
* Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Office Applications, for example
