Design Manager - Highways

Cobalt is working along side one of the leading tier one contractors that is responsible for some of the biggest and most complex infrastructure projects in the world. With an annual turnover of close to £2 billion, they deliver regional and national framework contracts, new builds, and refurbishment and fit out across a number of core markets.

The company are looking for a Design Manager to join their Berkshire offices to work on a major highways project based in Wokingham. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of design proposals, manage and ensure effective briefing of the Design Team including management of any 3rd parties to make sure they meet all customer specifications. Specifically you will deliver circa £20m of work over a period of 7 years and manage several smaller jobs, within the scheme, at various stages of delivery from pre-con through to onsite production.

A key competent to a projects successful delivery, as a Design Manager within our civil engineering function you will be exposed to a vast range of project types and as such engineering challenges that require strong coordination between the design stakeholders and the ability to think outside of the box

Remuneration:

• £45,000 - £65,000 + package

Requirements:

• Experience of delivering design services within civil engineering, ideally within highways, water & utilities.
• Knowledge of BIM
• Experience of most current forms of procurement.
