Building Surveyor

A new opportunity has become available for a Building Surveyor at one of the UK's leading Housing Associations based in London. This is a great opportunity to join a prominent organisation who have developed a leading reputation in the industry through their forward thinking and quality of service.

Remuneration

£250 to £300 Per Day

Depending on Experience

Job Role
Your role will be to lead a professional technical team to deliver maintenance services to buildings in a way that is customer focused and offers value for money.

  • You will be responsible for creating specifications of work, tendering works and managing contractors on site.
  • To investigate latent defects and report them to the development team.
  • To provide Party Wall advice and management.
  • Management of legal disrepair cases, including acting as an expert in court.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of forward maintenance registers for Estates and preventative planned maintenance schedules.
  • To provide technical support for the contract management team including, damp, complex repairs and insurance claims on both occupied and vacant properties.
  • You will lead in management of Environmental Health relationships with local authorities.
  • You will be responsible for the assessment, specification and budget approval of repairs.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience of surveying within social housing.
  • MSc/BSc in Surveying or similar equivalent qualification.
  • MRICS/MCIOB
  • Strong knowledge of construction technology, building pathology and contract administration.
  • In depth knowledge of schedule of rates and methods of measurement.
  • Up to date knowledge of Health & Safety legislations.
  • Self-motivated, ambitious and organised.
