£70,000 + Bonus
Cobalt is recruiting a Financial Controller position with a prestigious Family office, with an impressive property portfolio in excess of £2Billion.
Reporting directly to the Financial Director, CFO and Family Board Members you will be required to work closely with department Heads as well as with external stakeholders and accounting teams. You will have overall responsibility for the in-house finance and accounting for various entities across the business controlling the investments and personal accounting of the family.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing the quarterly management accounts and statutory accounts for investment and trading companies in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS
- Build-up of audit files, year-end adjustments for accruals and prepayment and other accounting treatment, taxation provision, amortisation and rent recognition
- Liaising with external auditors and resolving any queries arising from audit
- Assisting with Group Reporting, Management of internal finance companies and the Group Structural matters
- Responsible for producing the profit and loss and balance sheets, ready for external accountants to file at Companies House
- Submitting VAT Registrations and monthly and quarterly VAT Returns
- Treasury work including maintaining efficient working capital
- Reviewing supplier payment runs to ensure integrity with cost control prior to Director authorisation
- Reporting to financiers for loan covenant monitoring to include interest cover, and compliance certificates
The ideal candidate:
- ACA/ACCA Qualified - 2/3 years PQE
- Degree educated in a relevant discipline
- Trained/Currently working in a mid-tier practice, where your experience was split across accounts production, tax and audit work
- Any knowledge in the property industry is desirable, but not essential to the role
