Senior Employment Lawyer | Wellington

Due to a steady increase in workload, an opportunity has come up for a Senior Employment Lawyer to join a specialist employment law team in Wellington. Our client is well-known for getting results for their clients and for their expert knowledge across all aspects of employment law and employee relations. They represent employees and employers from large corporates to small businesses and individuals.

Working with a close-knit team, you will have exposure to all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. From redundancies and restructures, to workplace bullying and harassment, unfair dismissals, providing advice under the ERA and attending to mediations and court appearances. You will also have free reign to build up your practice by bringing on clients through your networks and business development ideas but there is a steady flow of existing work.

You will have the option of remote working and work-hour flexibility supported by technology and there is also the prospect of becoming the successor to a partner of the firm.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years PQE in employment law or a mix of employment law and general litigation;
• Experience advising both employer and employee clients - with at least some experience gained in private practice;
• Ability to run files with a decent level of autonomy;
• Experience running mediations with sound advocacy skills.
