Litigation Associate

The Role:

Our client is looking to hire a Senior Solicitor or Senior Associate with experience in relationship property and family law, employment law and criminal law. This role will be client facing where you can work unsupervised while running your own files but have the support from senior lawyers in the business. You will be mentored into a partnership role within the firm so displaying inherent leadership qualities is key.

The Day-to-Day:

You will gain exposure to complex relationship property matters as well as broader family law matters which could include: separation agreements and contracting out agreements, PPPR, family protection and custody, divorce and child support. You will also work on all areas of employment law which could include: advising on restraints and dismissals, advising on and drafting employment agreements, dealing with cases of harassment and other personal grievances as well as health and safety matters. Criminal law may form a part of the role too.

About you:

• 5+ years PQE as an NZ qualifier lawyer;
• Experience working in a law firm with a range of clients on matters pertaining to Relationship Property and Employment Law (Criminal Law exposure would be advantageous);
• Competent appearing in court with experience being involved in mediations and hearings;
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment depending on the situation;
