About the role
Working under the mentorship of two approachable partners, in a team setting, you will be involved in a range of employment law matters including personal grievance claims, employment law advice, restructuring matters and the like as well as civil litigation (property disputes, contractual disputes etc). The role will be relatively equally split between civil litigation and employment law with the ability to have a bit of exposure to criminal law work too.
This firm has a flat structure and reputable brand in the market - the work will be hands on and you'll have the ability to attend mediations and deal with clients directly, with a good level of involvement in the files. You will work in a practice that has modern practices and offices.
You will have:
· 2 or more years' as a litigation lawyer. Ideally you would have had some exposure to employment law / employment relations work and in private practice. If you have gained relevant experience in-house or in the public sector you may be of interest too provided you have good academics;
· sound research, drafting and advocacy skills; and
· the ability to work with a reasonable level of autonomy in file management.
This role could suit someone that is doing either civil litigation or employment law work and wants a greater mix and variety of work.
NZ qualified lawyers looking to return from the UK or Australia are of interest too.
