This is an exciting newly created role for an intermediate lawyer looking for a coveted in-house Legal position within an expanding organisation. Reporting to the Chief Legal Counsel, you will be involved in a mix of commercial legal work, stakeholder engagement / management, providing regulatory advice and corporate governance matters.

The organisation has had the green light from the government to be move forward with infrastructure related projects that are at various stages in development and it's a chance for you to contribute to our changing landscape. The work will involve:

  • commercial contract review, drafting and negotiations - experience with supply and services agreements, IT related agreements, procurement agreements and tendering processes will be of particular interest;

  • providing advice on regulatory matters such as privacy matters;

  • identifying risks and providing strategic legal advice to the business to allow them to make informed decisions, taking into account their risk profile;

  • writing legal opinions / advice;

  • corporate governance and company secretarial matters.

Ideally, you will be someone with:

  • 2.5/3-5 years' PQE in commercial law (ideally with some in-house private or public sector experience);

  • Commercial nous, with good stakeholder relationship management skills;

  • A decent academic record; and

  • An ability to build trust and credibility with the business.

This is a fantastic and rare opportunity to transition to a dynamic in-house environment. You'll strategically partner with business to provide commercially sound legal advice and work within a collaborative and growing legal team. You'll be fully immersed in projects from both a legal and commercial perspective.
