Our client is a busy South Auckland firm currently expanding their litigation team and looking to hire an ambitious junior lawyer. You will be involved in interesting litigation matters ranging from claims under the Treaty and Maori Land Court matters, resource management related issues and the opportunity to do some criminal work over time. This is a place where you can develop your advocacy skills. You will have good written communications skills with an overall positive and can-do attitude to your work.

The firm is looking for applicants who can actively demonstrate a genuine interest within this area of disputes work - those that may have completed university papers in immigration and refugee law, international law, environmental law or papers covering indigenous rights are of particular interest.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 0 -2 years' PQE - experience can come from litigation or other practice areas within NZ;
  • Good academic grades;
  • Studied relevant papers at university as listed above; and
  • Admitted to the bar in NZ (or at the very least be soon to be admitted and completed Profs already).
