Our client is a busy general practice law firm that does varied work across business advisory and transactions, shareholder agreements, property transactions, leasing, subdivisions, design and build contracts, refinancing, trusts, wills, estates, employment law and related work. Your not required to be an expert in all these areas but having a good base knowledge in a couple of core general practice legal areas is expected. Along with your technical skills, the fit is important - someone who can relate well to private clients of different ages and backgrounds as well as commercial businesses, and is a team player.

You'll be working in a practice that is family friendly, flexible and can offer a decent work/life balance. They are looking for a senior lawyer for succession planning purposes - so partnership in the short term is quite possible (or the medium term depending on your level of experience). The environment is conducive to ongoing learning and development, where you'd have experienced seniors to bounce ideas off of. There is a steady flow of work so a transferable client base isn't needed but having business development capabilities would be desired.

About you:

  • A 5-6+ year PQE NZ qualified lawyer;
  • Good client relationship and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience gained in a well-regarded firm where you have some transactional experience; and
  • Practical skills that are just as good as your technical legal skills.

This role is full time although some flexibility can be provided if needed.
