About the role

An exciting position in the Bay of Plenty has become available for a family lawyer who is passionate about helping families in tricky personal situations. The role calls for someone who has high levels of empathy, who can balance being approachable and being assertive at the right moments, and someone can see ahead of a problem before tackling the solution.

In this role, you'll work under the support and mentorship of an expert family lawyer that will help you develop your skills. Your day to day work will involve Care of Children Act applications, parenting orders, protection orders, domestic violence, PPPR and some relationship property disputes. You'll have the chance to get regular time in Court and advocate on behalf of your clients. The work will predominantly come from private paying clients.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years' PQE in family law (COCA and DV experience is highly valued);
  • Good interpersonal skills to build rapport with a diverse client base;
  • An interest in pursuing your career further in the family law area.

Perhaps you're ready to escape the big city to make a lifestyle change going into next year? Or maybe you have some solid family law experience but are looking for a supportive team environment that allows you to really springboard your career. Either way, get in touch to find out more about this opportunity. If you don't have experience across the full range of family law aspects but have Family Court experience we would still be interested in speaking with you.
