Working directly with a well-respected partner, you will be exposed to a high calibre of complex contentious issues from personal grievances to workplace investigations, performance management and restructuring matters. There will also be some advice and policy related work - where you'd do a mix of work between representing employer clients and individuals. Having that mix will ensure that you get a decent amount of mediation, ERA and Employment Court exposure to hone your skills in advocacy work. You'll work in a down to earth and collegial team with other seniors and juniors.
This is a role that has flexibility or part time e.g. 4 days a week can be considered for the right person. If you have an interest in relationship property and family law work there is scope to be involved in some of that work too.
You will be someone with:
- 3+ years' employment law and/or transferable litigation experience. While employment law experience is desired, those with a strong interest in this area but with a broader civil litigation and/or family law background will be considered also.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with a good level of autonomy and as part of a team.
- An ability to hold a NZ practising certificate.
