A well-regarded client of ours is looking to hire a Solicitor or Senior Solicitor to be a part of its growing close-knit team. You will have exposure to all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. From redundancies and restructures, to workplace bullying and harassment, unfair dismissals, providing advice on matters before the ERA or going through mediation processes. There will be the opportunity to get your time in mediations and start to hone your advocacy skills further.
Your background will include some employment law experience, which may or may not form part of a broader litigation skill set that you have. This is an opportunity to be mentored by some of the industry's best and gain exposure to complex and interesting employment law work if you're keen to specialise in this area.
- 2/3-5 years' employment law experience
- A decent university academic record and experience gained in a reputable law firm and/or in-house employment law advisory role
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- An ability to hold an NZ practising certificate.
If you're in a larger firm and looking for greater file involvement or autonomy in running files (with partner support), then this could be a great option for you. Likewise you might be doing more of a mix of work in a smaller practice but keen to specialise in employment law at this point in your career.
Kiwi's returning to NZ with relevant experience will also be considered. This is the perfect time to make a fresh start for 2021!
