We have an exciting and rare opportunity for a senior criminal lawyer to take a lead role within an expanding litigation team that is a well-established law firm. This role will see you setting up and spearheading the criminal law practice within the firm and being rewarded accordingly.
If you're a Criminal Barrister, this role might appeal to you as you can manage criminal cases with a good level of autonomy and have a team around you to support, but where you don't have to worry about the admin that goes with legal aid criminal work. It's the chance to be a part of a team, while retaining autonomy over file management in this area and still getting your time in court.
There is the opportunity to expand into other areas of litigation too if that is of interest to you.
- 5+ years PQE with solid criminal law and advoacy experience in NZ - this may have been gained with the Crown, private practice or working as a Barrister;
- PAL 2 or above provider status;
- A good amount of court experience where you've done judge alone and jury trials in relation to a variety of criminal law matters;
- The ability to mentors as part of a team that you will help run; and
- A team player.
