We have a unique opportunity for an intermediate level criminal lawyer to work under the mentorship of a well-regarded senior criminal lawyer role in a firm that is expanding the criminal side of its practice. They are pre-planning for someone to start around May 2021. You will be immersed in files involving PAL1 and 2 offences, have regular court appearances and the ability to take ownership for the files you work on but be able to be mentored and guided along the way. There is the opportunity to do some broader public law related dispute resolution work too if that's of interest.
- 2+ years PQE with solid criminal law and advoacy experience in NZ - this may have been gained with the Crown, private practice or working as a junior Barrister;
- PAL 1 and 2 status;
- Sound drafting and analytical skills with the ability to work methodically and in an organised manner; and
- A team player.
This role is South Auckland based. If you're in a role where you'd like to focus more on the legal work and less on administration, or you're interested in joining a criminal practice where you can learn in an environment where you'll still have a decent level of autonomy, then make an enquiry with us.
