Group Reporting Manager - FTSE 100

One of the UK's most recognisable and internationally active property businesses, whose development and investment portfolios include commercial, retail and luxury residential, are looking for an experienced financial accountant to join their Group Reporting team.

Active across the Europe, Asia and the USA, the business offers exception career development and mobility opportunities.

As the Group Reporting Manager, you will sit within a Group Finance team which include areas such as Tax, Treasury, Financial Accounting Reporting and Commercial Finance. Your primary focus will be to manage all aspects of financial reporting and consolidation of Group performance under IFRS. This would suit someone who is an experienced qualified accountant with previous FTSE reporting experience who is looking to further their career in financial reporting in a complex global business.

External Reporting

  • Manage and review the production of Group financial statements and notes for inclusion in the Annual Report and Interim Results Announcements in accordance with IFRS accounting standards, as well as reporting segmental sales performance for trading announcements
  • Complete the financial review section of the Annual Report and Interim Results Announcements and assist in producing draft narrative for other areas, such as the Strategic Report, Audit Committee Report or Remuneration Report as required
  • Accountable for the timely and highly accurate production of relevant summary and detailed analysis supporting all external results announcements and investor presentations for the CEO, CFO, Director of Investor Relations and Senior Management
  • Responsible for the interim and year end results investor and analyst presentations and accompanying scripts for external announcements
  • Review of internal forecasts versus analyst consensus and previous external guidance, working alongside the FP&A team, to inform future decision making and results guidance to the market, acting as an advisor on these matters to the CFO
  • Act as main point of contact for the external auditors and responsible for successful completion and sign-off of all finance audit deliverables

Internal Reporting

  • Monthly management accounts to ensure timely, accurate and insightful analysis of results and position is provided to Senior Finance and Business Management, the CFO, the CEO and the Executive Board
  • Ensure results are reported in line with IFRS accounting standards and suitable treatment has been applied to form the basis for external results for all existing and new financial transactions entered into by the Group
  • Provide technical accounting and financial guidance and support to Finance, the CFO and the wider business
  • Improve and develop month end financial reporting of results to all stakeholders as reporting requirements evolve
  • Owner of the financial impact of all share-based payment schemes run by the Group, including review of the monthly actual costs and review of the monthly forecast costs as well as modelling projected costs of in-flight and new share option schemes the Group may choose to operate
  • Ad-hoc analysis to develop insight that will lead to better business decisions

Team Management

  • Be a role model leader to the entire Finance team, taking an active role in improving team dynamics, communications and developing talent
  • Lead a team of two senior analysts to deliver objectives aligned with both Finance and Group goals
  • Provide coaching to team members and support them in their career development, creating a supportive learning environment in which talent flourishes


  • Work closely with Financial Control, Commercial Finance and FP&A teams to ensure all financial reporting within the business is aligned to externally reported results and there is consistency between each P&L and Balance Sheet area of forecasted and actual results
  • Research, provide advice to and train the business and finance around technical accounting issues, including changes to technical accounting standards

Qualifications, Skills & Experience required

  • Qualified accountant (ideally ACA/ACCA)
  • Previous FTSE reporting experience and comprehensive understanding of IFRS
  • Strong experience of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and statement of changes in equity reporting
  • Experience of working in a group finance team to consolidate information
  • Experience in producing high-quality, timely and accurate analysis and reporting, as well as communicating insight to senior management
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, commercially focused environment
