Our client are a multi-disciplinary surveying practice based in the heart of the West End. Their portfolio consists of both commercial and residential properties.

They are looking to add a Team Leader for the Client Accountants who will help to implement new processes to improve the accounting function. It is an exciting opportunity to support the Head of Client Accounting with the management of the accounting team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of Client Accountants on all accounting matters for a portfolio of clients
  • Direct client accounting responsibility for assigned clients/properties
  • Any issues related to billing, budgets, expenditure, payments are promptly resolved
  • All rental and service charges arrears are chased as per agreed deadlines to meet relevant KPIs
  • Recording of service charge budgets within the Property Management database
  • Review and preparation of year end service charge reconciliation's
  • That client quarterly VAT Returns are accurately calculated and logged with HMRC within required timescales
  • Monitoring of teams Bank Reconciliations, supplier invoice approval and review of insufficient funds report
  • Actively manage team members workloads
  • Provide informal training, guidance and support for immediate team members
  • Liaise with relevant surveyors, acting on and providing information as required
  • Liaising with auditors and clients as appropriate
  • Attendance at meetings with clients, and working with clients to understand their needs, interpret their requirements and respond as appropriate
  • Actively look to improve processes and increase efficiencies across the accounting function
  • Lead projects to achieve improvements to processes and procedures
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of RICS regulations, CIS, VAT & NRL requirements

Personal Specification

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Property accounting and management experience
  • Experience using property management systems such as Tramps, Yardi, Qube, Horizon, MUS etc.
  • Intermediate/ Advanced excel skills
  • Ability to work within strict deadlines
  • Strong written & verbal communications and inter-personal skills
